Autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (aHSCT) has been shown to be an effective treatment for relapsing remitting multiple sclerosis (MS). Researchers in Florence, Italy, have shown that aHSCT can also be valuable in patients with progressive MS, interrupting the progressive disease course.
